Day Trip to Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants

Thursday 8 June 2017

The renowned nursery Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants is a small family run independent nursery based in Hampshire, which grows a wide range of home produced herbaceous perennials grown outdoors in peat free compost.

Founded by Rose Hardy in 1988, Rose and Rob Hardy are long time exhibitors at Chelsea Flower Show – with 20 RHS Chelsea Gold Medals to their name.

Rose Hardy will show us around the nursery and gardens introducing the best seasonal herbaceous perennials.

In 2016 Rosy designed one of the main show gardens at Chelsea Flower Show. Her garden ‘Forever Freefolk’ was sponsored by Brewin Dolphin (investment planning firm) and inspired by endangered chalk streams, which provide a rich habitat for aquatic plants, insects and wildlife, but are slowly disappearing!  http://www.hardys-plants.co.uk

We are also visiting Bere Mill Farm (www.beremillfarm.com), an eighteenth century water mill, which is close to Rosy’s nursery and recommended by her as a wonderful garden to see.  We will stay there a couple of hours prior to leaving at 4.00, to be back in Brighton before 6. 00 (traffic dependent)

Cost: £68 to include coach travel and lunch
