Houseplants and Macramé Hangers

Thursday 28 June 2018

Spend a morning at the Garden House learning about houseplants, then enjoy an afternoon creating a macramé plant hanger – workshop led by designer and stylist, Paula, of Brighton-based Cocoon & me.

Paula uses macramé, crochet and knitting to produce a range of original hand-made fashion accessories and stunning pieces for the home and garden. Her bespoke work is featured in many contemporary cafes and restaurants and her beautiful plant container-cocoons are perfectly timed to work with the renaissance for plants in the home.

Cocoon & me is a small, independent enterprise working with planet-friendly materials such as jute, rope and other recycled textile yarns. www.cocoonandme.com

We will identify a variety of houseplants for different situations, and how to propagate and care for them.  You will be able to choose one for your new macramé hanger.

Using a step-by-step guide, Paula will demonstrate basic macramé knots and techniques that you can then use to design your very own plant hanger, which you will take home.

Enjoy a delicious vegetarian lunch in the garden, plus tea, coffee and cake during the session.

Cost: £85 – includes all the materials and lunch/refreshments. The workshop is limited to 8 people, so do book soon if you are interested as our workshops fill up very quickly!
