Enjoy Learning About Gardening

Posted:30 August 2017

There are so many aspects of gardening that excite us here at the Garden House – for the complete beginner, or the more experienced hand – for town gardens, or allotments – for challenging spaces, or handkerchief courtyards deciding what to plant, and how to nurture and propagate.

The Garden House Brighton

Our courses have been developed over many years and are designed to support your gardening efforts, and to inspire and inform you. Our students love our approach and often return to build up their skills, “I loved the course, learnt more than expected and had great fun doing so with a lovely group of people.”

Propagation methods

With this in mind we would like to remind you of some upcoming courses:

Starting 13 Sept, Gardening from Scratch – have fun and be inspired as you learn the basics of gardening. Our 8-session Wednesday evenings course is designed for beginner gardeners – to improve your knowledge and gardening skills and to give you the confidence to nurture and enjoy your garden.

Starting 27 Sept, Design Your Own Garden – the aim of this 6-session course is to give you the basic skills and confidence to design or revamp your own garden to suit your lifestyle and budget. By the end of the course you will be able to draw up a scale plan, with at least one planting plan for a bed, have a clear idea of the materials you want to use for the hard landscaping, and an idea of the cost to turn your plan into reality, plus a schedule of work.

Starting 28 Sept, Plant Passion this hands-on 8-session course is ideal for all plant enthusiasts – the aim being to further your knowledge of plants, and how and where they grow.

Starting 18 Jan 2017, Plantspersonship – this 8-session course is for the keen gardener or professional horticulturalist who wants to increase their knowledge and skills. It will be ideal for plant enthusiasts as the key aspect of the course is to encourage expertise, and to improve your plant knowledge by looking closely at plants, how they grow and where they thrive.

We are based in central Brighton, in a large and beautiful garden and work space which was once a market garden.  It is one of Brightons secret spaces!  Do sign up for one of our courses, you won’t be disappointed (we hope!)…
