First Time Gardener 10-week course
Starts 13 October 2010 for 10 weeks
***** This event has now finished *****
Our First Time Gardener course is designed to give you the confidence and skills needed to tackle and enjoy your own garden. Spend a few hours each Wednesday evening for ten weeks improving your knowledge and gardening skills.
The course includes advice on how to assess and survey a garden – the garden’s aspect, the soil and how to improve it, and what should be kept or discarded. Choosing ‘the right plant for the right place’ is vital – from trees and shrubs to climbers, perennials, annuals and bulbs – learn the difference between them, and what can each of them bring to your garden. We’ll also cover propagation, pruning, pest control, identifying weeds, and composting. In fact all the basics you need to cherish and enjoy your garden or allotment!
These evening sessions start at 6.30pm and finish at 9.15pm.
Cost: £250 – to include delicious light suppers with a glass of wine! Places are limited so do contact us as soon as possible.
The sessions take place at The Garden House, 5 Warleigh Road, Brighton BN1 4NT– Wednesdays 13, 20, 27 October, then 3, 10, 17, 24 November, and 1, 8, 15 December 2010
