Another of our very successful design courses led by Peter Thurman – arboricultural and horticultural consultant, and expert in designing with plants.

Kew trained, Peter has tackled thousands of design projects in over 30 years as a landscape and garden designer – from small town gardens, to country estates and commercial developments.   His overseas commissions include gardens in Japan and Rome. Peter also teaches at the London College of Garden Design. His plant knowledge is renowned and he also holds chartered status in arboriculture, forestry and the environment.  www.thurmanconsultancy.com

The course will cover the principles of garden and planting design, basic surveying techniques, planting styles, plant spacing and planting plans.

Also designing with trees and shrubs, and with herbaceous perennials, ferns, bamboos, grasses and bulbs.

One evening will be taught by Drew Cane of Sussex-based landscape construction specialists, Second Nature, another evening we will visit a beautiful local garden for ‘on the spot’ discussions.

Cost: £315 for the six-session course, Monday evenings from 6.15pm – 9.15pm – to include a delicious light supper and a glass of wine!

Dates: Mondays 16, 23 May, then 6, 13, 20, 27 June.
