How to be a Gardener…

Starts 10 March 2010 for 10 weeks

***** This event has now finished *****

This course is designed to give you all the confidence you need to tackle and enjoy your own garden. Spend a few hours each Wednesday evening for ten weeks improving your knowledge and gardening skills.

The course includes advice on how to assess and survey a garden – the garden’s aspect, the soil and how to improve it, and what should be kept or discarded. Choosing ‘the right plant for the right place’ is vital – from trees and shrubs to climbers, perennials, annuals and bulbs – learn the difference between them, and what can each of them bring to your garden. We’ll also cover propagation, pruning, pest control, identifying weeds, and composting. In fact all the basics you need to cherish and enjoy your garden or allotment!

Cost: £225 (one day a week for ten weeks) – and includes a delicious light supper with a glass of wine! Places are limited so do contact us as soon as possible.

The event takes place at The Garden House, Brighton – Wednesdays: 10, 17, 24, 31 March, then a break for Easter, resuming 21, 28 April / 5, 12, 19, 26 May 2010
