***** This event has now finished *****
Time for tea? Join expert felt-maker Mary Dean for our fun and friendly workshop and make your own felted tea-cosy!
Mary lives in Brighton has been making felt for the past twelve years. She has an experimental approach to her work, always developing her style and generating new ideas. One of her most successful techniques is to inlay vintage fabrics into her felt. Her pieces range from scarves and funky corsages to beautiful throws and shrugs. Mary’s work is very distinctive and colourful, well made and timeless.
She says: “I learnt the magical process of felt making twelve years ago. The versatility of this traditional craft has held my fascination ever since. With no need for complicated equipment you can quickly learn to make beautiful and unique textiles of your own. Why not start with a tea cosy? Elegant and sophisticated to wild and extravagant, the choice is yours. I will teach you all the techniques required.”
All materials will be provided but please bring an old towel!
Cost: £60 (£55 each for two booking together) – to include a delicious homemade lunch.
This workshop will start at 10.30pm and finish at approx. 3.30pm. Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.
