Make your own Hand-Made Paper

Saturday 4 June 2011

***** This event has now finished *****

Join local artist Nicola Jackson for this fascinating workshop. Nicola makes paper from coloured waste such as drawing paper, computer paper and envelopes, and will show you how to recycle this raw material into beautiful  decorative paper.

“My interest in colour, pattern and texture led me to papermaking and I have explored the versatility of this medium for the last 25 years. I make large wallpieces and artist’s books, using handmade recycled paper. Inspiration for my work has come from the patterns in my garden and pond, the texture of sea and shore – incorporating found objects such as rope and netting into the paper – colours of the Australian landscape, historical patterns and colours and the surroundings of everyday life.”

Cost: £50 (£45 each for two booking together) – to include a delicious homemade lunch.

This workshop will start at 10.30pm and finish at approx. 3.30pm. Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Location: The Garden House, 5 Warleigh Road, Brighton BN1 4NT.
