Plant Passion – the Sequel: 6-session course

Starting 19 April 2018

***** This event has now finished *****

By popular demand we have designed a six-session course for those of you passionate about plants!

Are you a keen gardener or professional horticulturalist wanting to increase your plant knowledge and skills – or maybe you attended one of our earlier Plantpersonship courses or Passion for Plants course but still want to know more?

This 6-session course is ideal for all plant enthusiasts – the aim being to further your knowledge of plants, and how and where they grow.

The course will cover the following:

  • Each week a practical session on propagation: seed sowing, taking cuttings, division etc.
  • Each week an identification of eight different plants with a view to you learning the names and identify more plants.
  • One week spent at a local nursery looking closely at Plants of the Moment – highlights of the border at that particular time, and looking at successful plant combinations, and how they are propagated.
  • One session designing, sowing seeds for, and how to manage a cut flower bed
  • One session looking at the botanical make up of plants – practical cutting up and identifying the different parts of the plants and their functions.
  • One session on designing, creating and managing a herb garden, or how to integrate herbs into the borders.
  • One session focusing on grasses, rushes and sedges
  • One session on wild flowers and creating a wild flower border/ area in your own garden
