Visit to the exotic Ventnor Botanical Gardens

Friday 2 September 2011

***** This event has now finished *****

Join us on our visit to the wonderfully exotic Ventnor Botanical Gardens on the Isle of Wight. Memories of our last visit sparked off our enthusiasm to go again – and what better time to visit this jewel of a garden than September when the island should be warm and supporting a huge variety of plants to inspire us.

We will leave Brighton in the morning and travel by train and then ferry to Ryde where we will be taken by taxi to the Gardens at Ventnor.  We will be guided round the gardens by Irene Fletcher who is an inspirational horticulturalist – she will give us a lively ‘walk and talk’ introducing us to the many of fantastic plants that grace this garden.

Following this, and a leisurely stroll along the coastal path enjoying the fantastic scenery, we will finish our visit at the Spyglass Inn where will have supper together before taking the train home.

This is a daytime event, leaving Brighton by train in the morning, then ferry across to Ryde, and returning after 9pm - a visit not to be missed, so book your place soon!

Cost: £80 – to include all travel, the talk and a two-course pub supper
