Design Your Own Garden – 3-day Masterclass with Annie Guilfoyle

Monday 26th August - Wednesday 28th August

We are delighted to again invite Annie Guilfoyle to the Garden House.  An inspirational garden designer and an experienced tutor (Annie was formerly director of Garden Design at KLC School of Design at Hampton Court Palace), Annie also runs gardening-related courses at West Dean College near Chichester.

Annie regularly writes articles about different aspects of garden design in Gardens Illustrated magazine.  Her design studio Creative Landscapes is based in West Sussex

Day 1:

  • Understanding how to survey and analyse your garden accurately
  • Starting the design process – working with functional layout plans and concepts to aid the design process 

DAY 2:

  • Developing the garden design layout
  • Working on your own plans

DAY 3: 

  • Perfecting your planting design
  • Choosing the best plants for your site
  • Completing your planting plans

The focus of the workshop will be how to make decisions on the layout of a new garden design, how to balance soft landscaping (planting) and hard landscaping, and how to successfully transfer ideas from the Chelsea Flower Show (or similar) into your own garden.

Dates:26, 27 and 28 August 2019  – 10am – 4pm

Cost:  £350, to include lunch each day, plus tea/coffee and cake
