Looking at your garden in a new way…

Back in June we ran a creative photography course led by local photographer and tutor Laura Dodson.  A terrific day, enjoyed by all – the pleasure undoubtedly came in part from slowing down and seeing the garden and its plants in far greater detail than usual.

We thought you’d like to see some of the photos Laura took that day. Among many comments: ”I had such a lovely and productive day. With Laura’s encouragement I now feel confident enough to explore my camera’s hitherto hidden possibilities! Many thanks.”

Using the beautiful Garden House setting as inspiration for practical exercises Laura and her students explored composition and basic lighting techniques, capturing images of natural textures and plant patterns. Laura says: ”I’ve really enjoyed teaching here – everyone’s confidence improved throughout the day. The Garden House is a photographers dream, you’re never stuck for inspiration!”

Early next year (Saturday 2 February 2013) we’ll be holding another Creative Photography workshop – a one day workshop suitable for all, whether you are confident with your camera skills and wish to improve on a particular aspect of photography, or are a beginner and simply want to understand your camera better and explore its creative potential. Click here for more info.
