Upcoming Specialist Gardening Talks

Posted:25 August 2015

Following the great success of Rose Hardys talk early this year we have invited her back on Friday 2 October 2015 to talk about late flowering perennials.

Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants is a small family run independent nursery based in Hampshire, which grows a wide range of home produced herbaceous perennials. Rose and Rob Hardy are breeders and introducers of interesting new perennial varieties and exhibit at major Flower Shows throughout the year – and winners of 19 Chelsea Gold medals! BOOK ONLINE NOW.

Next, join us on Tuesday 17 November for an entertaining illustrated talk by Robert Hill-Snook, Head Gardener of the Pavilion Gardens in Brighton.

Not only Robert will be talking about the restoration and planting of this historic Regency garden, and the challenges associated with gardening in this wonderful central-Brighton location but also recalling the “…many bizarre, unexpected, wacky and off the wall sights seen in the gardens over the years. As Brighton and Hove is such an open-minded place, it attracts such wonderful characters many of whom I’ve seen walking through the Pavilion Gardens!”

Robert has been been responsible for the management of the Pavillion Gardens for the past 18 years. Prior to working in Brighton he mainly worked in Arts and Crafts gardens, including some created by Edwin Lutyens and Gertrude Jekyll.  He was head gardener for five years at the Deanery in Sonning.
