Learning by Doing: 6-session practical course

* THIS EVENT HAS NOW FINISHED *

Wednesday 18th May

We have just finished a late winter/early spring Learning by Doing course, which was very enjoyable and productive (though challenged sometimes by the weather!), and are looking forward to this new 6-session course starting in May.

Working in our teaching garden, improve your knowledge and skills, and gain the confidence to plan, manage the garden, propagate by taking cuttings,  prune and much more.

This course is designed for those new to gardening – learn the basics, have fun and be inspired in a friendly and informal environment.

  • How to grow good plants, and to grow your own food
  • Learn the basics of soil management, composting and making your garden more sustainable
  • Propagation – taking cuttings seed sowing
  • Plus an introduction to pruning, pests/diseases, and weed control

This is a hands-on course, and we will be spending much of our time outside – and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions!

Cost: £275 – to include coffee/tea and cake

Dates: Wednesday mornings 18 May, then 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 June – 10.30am to 1pm.  Places are limited so do contact us as soon as possible

BOOK ONLINE NOW. If you are unable to pay online, please contact us to find out about alternative ways of paying

Location: The Garden House, 5 Warleigh Road, Brighton BN1 4NT

**COVID update:  As the Garden House studio is a relatively small space and for the safety of all, we have reduced the number of participants in our workshops.  We would also prefer participants to have had double/triple vaccinations, or to have taken a Lateral Flow Test before joining the group (we have some available if needed).  Thank you for your understanding.
