· How to grow cut flowers, including supporting, maintenance and display, involving seed sowing and propagation of plants
· Elements of simple garden design – colour, height, structure and planting combinations
* Year round interest – plants for the seasons
· How to manage a vegetable plot (we will visit a local allotment to discover how it can be done)
· Pruning principles: Why, When and How – demonstration and have a go
· Creating a dry garden or dry garden area – we will consider identification of plants suitable for hot summers and wet winters, plus how to plan, construct and plant a gravel garden whatever the size of your garden
