A Year in the Garden: 5-session course

* THIS EVENT HAS NOW FINISHED *

Wednesday 1st March - Wednesday 1st November

A course with a difference – tailored for you and your garden….

This course is designed to look at the students’ individual gardens and create a plan for your Year in the Garden.

Working with mood boards, photographs, and mind maps to help you to plan and know what to do each month throughout the year.  We will focus on the practical tasks of looking after the garden:

  • How to care for the soil
  • How to garden organically and sustainably
  • Propagation – seed sowing, taking cuttings
  • Use of plants in the garden throughout the year – right plant, right place, to include gardening in extreme weather conditions
  • Pruning – when and how
  • The control of weeds, pests and diseases
  • Tools and equipment we recommend

There will be an opportunity to practise here at the Garden House – learning by doing – backed up by the theory, including learning how to develop and maintain a gravel garden, using our recently created one as inspiration – the lawn is gone!

You will have the confidence to go home and apply the techniques you have learnt plus build up a care plan for your garden.

We will meet for one day every two months.  Beginning in March 2023 we will look at tasks to do during March and April and then meet again in May, end of June, September and November.

Cost: £380 (5 sessions), 10am – 4pm to include a seasonal, vegetarian lunch and refreshments. BOOK ONLINE NOW.

There is an option to join for individual days at £80 per day – if you wish to do this, or are unable to pay online, please contact us.

Dates: Wednesdays – 1 March, 3 May, 28 June, 6 September, 1 November.

Venue: The Garden House, 5 Warleigh Road, Brighton BN1 4NT
