Art of Propagation: 1 day workshop

Support biodiversity by growing a wider array of plants, and sustainability by collecting and sowing your own seeds/taking cuttings and swapping plants with others.  Learn how to make plants for free! 

The main aim of the workshop is to understand the principles of propagation both vegetative and by seed.

  • Seed sowing and  how to care for your seedlings, pricking out and aftercare.
  • Softwood, semi-ripe and hardwood cuttings – learn the principles of making nodal, internodal, basal and leaf bud cuttings to increase stock in your garden.  There will be a wide range of shrubs and herbaceous perennials to take your cuttings from and we will discuss how to improve your chances of success.
  • Leaf Cuttings – learn the magic of propagation from leaf cuttings.  How to propagate Streptocarpus and Begonia plants.

Students will take sown seeds and cuttings home.

Cost: £120 – to include a seasonal vegetarian lunch, plus coffee, tea and cake

CANCELLATION POLICY: We give a full refund (minus the Eventbrite administrative fee) if you cancel 8 weeks or more before an event, workshop or course.  Should you need to cancel within 8 weeks and are unable to attend, we ask you to find a friend to take your place.  To assist you, we will also try to find someone to take your place, but if this is not possible we will not be able to offer a refund.
