Join us for this creative and practical workshop. Staking your plants takes practice and skill, and March is the perfect time of year to prepare support structures for your plants well before they put on a lot of growth and become unruly!
Be inspired by the creative garden staking skills of expert gardeners Max Crisfield and Henry Macaulay. Max and Henry worked together in the beautiful Walled Garden at Parham House in West Sussex for over five years. Henry is now Head Gardener at Marchants Hardy Plants in East Sussex. They will demonstrate the many ways in which you can stake your herbaceous plants, and to help you make your own ‘takeaway’ structure using natural birch and hazel. Now is the moment!
Max Crisfield says: “For the past few years I have been teaching natural staking courses at the Garden House in Brighton with my friend Henry Macaulay, getting crafty with some freshly cut bundles of birch and hazel. Spring is the perfect time to practise the art of natural staking in your own garden. Our workshop will cover all you need to know…”
Cost: £130 – to include structure to take home / we will have additional material to buy so you can continue your staking at home.
Dates: Thursday 7 March / 10am to 3pm – to include refreshments and a light lunch.

Should you need to cancel within 8 weeks and are unable to attend, we ask you to find a friend to take your place. To assist you, we will also try to find someone to take your place, but if this is not possible we will not be able to offer a refund.
