How to Make a Garden: 3 session course

* THIS EVENT HAS NOW FINISHED *

Monday 30th October - Thursday 2nd November

Are you dissatisfied with your garden? It may be new to you or it may need up-dating, or you may wish to revamp part of a larger garden.  If so, this three day course is for you…

We have decided to run this course again this year as it was so enjoyable and successful in May this year.  Our aim is to inspire you to create a really beautiful outdoor space, a sanctuary to enjoy.  The focus will be on design, the hard landscaping and the planting.

You will be based at the Garden House with its plants, structural elements and materials used as part of our key resources.  The garden is a great source of ideas – for example, we recently replaced the lawn with a gravel garden, a radical move but very much in tune with our warmer, drier summers.

We will visit another designed and planted garden for more inspiration during the course, plus have input from an experienced hard-landscaper as to what materials to use to realise your plan.

You will learn how to:

  • Optimise the space
  • Hone your ideas to create a harmonious and balanced design
  • Plan a garden that is pleasing throughout the year
  • Assess your site and draw up a plan
  • Put your ideas into practice

We have up-to-date books/materials and other resources to ignite your imagination for both refining your design and using interesting plants.  We will give you an inspiration list of gardens and designers to borrow ideas from, places to visit, nurseries to use and places to source materials.

Cost: £350 (3 sessions), to include lunch, cake and refreshments.

BOOK ONLINE NOW.  The places are limited to 6 participants.  If you are unable to pay online, please contact us.

Dates: 30th, 31st October & 2nd November / 10am – 4pm

Venue: The Garden House, 5 Warleigh Road, Brighton BN1 4NT

CANCELLATION POLICY: We give a full refund (minus the Eventbrite administrative fee) if you cancel 8 weeks or more before an event, workshop or course.  Should you need to cancel within 8 weeks and are unable to attend, we ask you to find a friend to take your place.  To assist you, we will also try to find someone to take your place, but if this is not possible we will not be able to offer a refund.
