Time to get started with your 2015 Planting Plans!

Posted:4 January 2015

“Every gardener knows that under the cloak of winter lies a miracle a seed waiting to sprout, a bulb opening to the light, a bud straining to unfurl.  And the anticipation nurtures our dream.”  by  Barbara Winkler

Time to get started with your 2015 planting plans our favourite annuals and biennials, herbs and vegetables are available in Garden House seed-packets – plants which we come back to time and time again, which we love for their special colour or variety – and which are good, easy performers.

Among others Ammi majus, Cerinthe major ‘Purpurascens’, Cleome Helen Campbell, Cornflower Black Ball, Cosmos Sensation Mixed, Erigeron karvinskianus, Eschscholzia californica, Marigold Indian Prince, Nasturtium Jewel Mixed, Nicotiana mutabilis Marshmallow, Nigella damascena, Nigella damascena ‘Miss Jekyll’, Sunflower Earthwalker, Sweet Pea Matucana, Verbena bonariensis, WelshPoppy, Zinnia Envy.

Or, tied together with a piece of raffia, these seed packets make great gifts for keen gardeners (or keen window-boxers!) – birthdays, Easter and ‘thank you’ gifts. Contact us to find out when and which seeds are available contact@gardenhousebrighton.co.uk

And while youre getting ahead for Spring, why not sign up for one of our popular courses – February is a great time to brush up your gardening skills, and think about refreshing or redesigning your garden:

Design Your Own Garden: 6-session course – Tuesday afternoons, starting 10 February.

The aim of this 6-session course is to give you some basic skills, knowledge and confidence to design or revamp your own garden, to suit your lifestyle and budget. By the end of the course you will have drawn up a scale plan, with at least one planting plan for a bed, have a clear idea of the materials you want to use for the hard landscaping, and an idea of the cost to turn your plan into reality, plus a schedule of work.

Gardening for Beginners: 6-session course – Wednesday evenings, starting 11 February.

Have fun and get inspired as you learn the basics about gardening. Our Wednesday evening course is designed for beginner gardeners – to improve your knowledge and gardening skills and to give you the confidence to nurture and enjoy your garden.

“I loved the course, learnt more than expected and had great fun doing so with an interesting group of people.  Glass of wine with the delicious supper each evening was welcome as well!”
