Decorative Paper Cutting Workshop

* THIS EVENT HAS NOW FINISHED *

Monday 2nd March

Try something new this year – learn the skills of paper cutting! This relaxing craft is also very low cost – you only need paper, scalpel and a cutting mat to get started. No experience is needed, so this workshop is suitable for beginners and those wanting to practise their skills.

The workshop will be lead by Brighton-based artist Suz Snow who has taken part in Brighton Artist Open Houses since 2015, and has exhibited her work in various galleries in the UK and Australia.

“I love the versatility of paper and the effects it creates. I find a lot of my inspiration in the natural world. I began making dioramas when I was homesick living in Australia and craved the misty woods of home. On returning to the UK I made my sister a paper cutting for her new baby, from there I was asked to make more paper cuttings for babies and special occasions. I now make a combination of dioramas, commissions and paper cuttings to turn on to prints.”

Templates will be provided to create your hand made artwork. We start with getting used to working with scalpels, cutting simple shapes and patterns before moving on to a piece you will love. It’s a really fun and relaxed way to get to know this beautiful craft.
