Garden writer, local gardener and long-time friend of The Garden House Steve Bustin joins us to explore the life and times of one of Edwardian Britain’s greatest plant collectors, bulb experts and gardening eccentrics, Ellen Willmott.
From mixing with royals and having 61 plants named after her to living penniless and alone with only her roses for company, in this humorous and informative talk you’ll also learn from Ellen how to booby-trap a daffodil, how to let someone know what you think of their garden (without uttering a word) and who you should call when arrested for shoplifting.
This sociable evening talk includes a light supper and a glass of wine.
