Celebrating the Seasons

Posted:16 February 2017

Each month here at the Garden House we spend one evening celebrating the time of year. These evenings are for lovers of gardens, plants, food and drink, and traditional crafts.

Over the last few sessions we have celebrated Hygge, listened to mysterious Sussex stories by candlelight, made Christmas puddings and Seville orange marmalade, cleaned and oiled our gardening tools ready for Spring, planted indoor succulent containers, learnt the skill of rag-rugging and paper-folding amongst many other activities.  We have also shared feelings and memories about the time of year.

Of course, we also talk about what to do in the garden each month, and at each session we enjoy a delicious supper together using seasonal and homegrown (when available) produce, and prepared by us, Deborah and Bridge of the Garden House!

We are loving these monthly meetings do come along and share your ideas as well as learning some new skills. Celebrating the Season evenings have been running for over a year now the small group size allows space for discussion and creativity, all set against the backdrop of the beautiful Garden House garden.
